Biography
Chiara Martin is a fourth-year undergraduate student completing a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry. She is particularly interested in molecular and cellular mechanisms, with a focus on metabolic and signaling pathways. She is currently completing an NSERC USRA exploring the effects of milk-derived extracellular vesicles on metabolic regulation, further developing her interest in how molecular processes influence physiological and disease outcomes.
Chiara is interested in pursuing a career in pathology, where she hopes to integrate mechanistic understanding with clinical application. She is also passionate about improving scientific literacy in others, which is reflected in her role as a tutor, and as a volunteer of Let’s Talk Science, a science outreach program that helps engage youth in STEM learning.
In her free time, she enjoys playing the piano and learning new languages, and hopes to travel to many countries someday.
