Biography
Dr. Mahmudul Hasan (Ph.D) was a Visiting Scholar at the University of Winnipeg. He completed his Ph.D. in Food Science from the University of Manitoba. Previously, he completed his Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the Jahangirnagar University, Dhaka, Bangladesh. He has more than thirteen years of experiences in teaching and research. His major working areas are food science, meat and muscle biochemistry, proteomics, near infrared spectroscopy, biochemistry & molecular biology. Currently, he is focusing his research on cell & molecular biology, milk-derived exosomes, developmental biology, miRNAomics, lipidomics, proteomics and bioinformatics. He is enthusiastic to uncover the therapeutic potential of milk-derived extracellular vesicles (MEVs) and how the maternal obesity changes the MEV cargo (i.e., miRNAs, lipids and peptides). In Canada, 22 to 24 per cent of women are diagnosed with obesity at the time of conception. Maternal obesity and diet can influence the nutritional and non-nutritional makeup of milk including MEV cargo which could adversely affect early life growth and development of offspring.
Dr. Hasan is a fond of travelling, loves to cook and eat. He is a socially responsive person, and humanity is the highest priority for him. He is an enthusiastic learner, friendly peer, want to see a hunger-free, war-free peaceful and inclusive world.
